Meet: 9:00 AM                   Silas Condict County Park, Kinnelon Rd, Butler, NJ 07405

From I-287 Exit 52 (Rt-23 West): Merge onto NJ-23 toward Butler.  3+ mi to right exit for Kinnelon/Kiel Rd. At Light at end of ramp, turn left for Kinnelon Rd and cross Rt-23. Continue 1 mile on Kinnelon Rd to Park Entrance on right at William Lewis Arthur Drive. Turn right into the Park and continue 0.8 mi, parking in sight of Cantys Lake.

Sunday                   March 11, 2012                   Spruce Run Reservoir to Voorhees State Park  Moderately Strenuous

We meet next to the NJ Astronomical Observatory in Voorhees and shuttle to Spruce Run Reservoir. Then walk back along the Highlands trail with expansive views over the reservoir. There is some road walking on back roads to make the connection into the Highlands trail in Voorhees. 8 miles total. Shuttle Required

From I-78 West Exit 17: Merge onto NJ-31 North toward Clinton/Washington/Flemington. Go North 2.2 mi on Rt-31to exit on the right for Main St (Rt-513). Continue on Rt-513 through High Bridge for 2.5 mi to Observatory Rd on left. Turn left onto Observatory Rd driving 0.4 mi to parking lot across from NJ Astronomical Observatory.

We will pick up where we left off on the Highlands trail last year, and with any luck make it to Mahlon Dickerson this time! Come continue the saga. The hike is 10 mi long.   Shuttle Required

From Rt. 80 Exit 34B (Rt-15 North): Go about 5 mi. to Weldon Rd. on right. Exit and continue north about 3 mi. to Saffin Pond Parking on the right.

 
Saturday                   March 24, 2012                   Trenton to NYC ­– WANJ #2                        Moderately Strenuous

WALK ACROSS NEW JERSEY PART II: Hamilton Township to Princeton. Second in a series of about a dozen hikes crossing the Garden State. Walk from Hamilton Township to Princeton via the Delaware & Raritan Canal, then through parks and city streets past historic sites in Princeton. The hike is 8-12 essentially flat miles. Bring lunch, snacks and water. E-mail or phone leaders a week before the hike for meeting time and place.       Shuttle may be required.
