Sunday        April 1, 2012                    Silvermine Circular                                              Moderately Strenuous

This hike begins and ends at the Silvermine parking/picnic area. We’ll take the Menomine trail and Stockbridge Mtn. trail to Lake Tiorati for lunch. Then return by the Ramapo-Dunderburg trail and Menomine trail for a complete circle.

Meet: 9:00 AM    Silvermine Picnic Parking Area, Seven Lakes Drive, Harriman State Park, NY 10911

From Suffern @ I-87 & I-287 Interchange Exit 15A: Take Rt-17 north 4.5 miles, to Seven Lakes Drive, just north of Sloatsburg, New York. Turn right onto Seven Lakes Drive; go 12.6 miles. Silver Mine Picnic/Parking Area is on the right.

From the Palisades Interstate Parkway Exit 18 @ intersection of PIP & Rt-6: Go north to Long Mountain Circle, and then take Seven Lakes Drive west 1.5 miles to Silver Mine Picnic/Parking Area on left.

 
Saturday     April 7, 2012                    Palisades & Giants Steps                                     Moderately Strenuous

Starting at the Alpine Boat Basin, we hike north along the Shore Path, scramble over the Giant Steps and then ascend the cliff to the Long Path. Then we follow it South to our descent just past the Alpine Lookout. Loop is 8 miles long.

Meet: 9:00 AM    Alpine Boat Basin, Henry Hudson Dr, Alpine, NJ 07648

The Boat Basin is 1+ mi. down (Southeastward) the Northern End of the Henry Hudson Dr. It passes the PIP HQ and descends toward river. At the circle, down near the river, bear left (North) going to the Boat Basin. Parking is on left side near restrooms.

From The Palisades Parkway Exit 2: (almost 8 miles north of the GW Bridge)

Northbound: Get off at exit, stay left at bottom of curve, follow road to river and Boat Basin

Southbound: Get off at exit, make right onto Rt-9W northbound, go on to traffic light and make right. Proceed, going under the overpass, bear right to road to river and Boat Basin.

From I-287 Exit 55: Take Rt-511 (Ringwood Ave.) north about 11 miles to junction of Greenwood Lake Turnpike and East Shore Drive. Parking is on the left side of the Road.

Sunday        April 22, 2012                  Raymondskill Falls                                               Moderately Strenuous

First we’ll visit the spectacular Raymondskill Falls the highest waterfall in PA. (A series of magnificent cascades with much flowing water). Then we will follow the Milford Cliff Trail along cliffs 500 feet above the Delaware River to the Milford Knob Overlook for lunch – many lovely views along the way. Return will be on different trails. Total about 7 miles. We will Shuttle to Raymondskill Falls from Augusta.

Foul Weather or poor driving conditions cancels this hike.

From I-80 Exit 34: Onto Rt-15 north. Continue for about 17 miles through Lafayette on Rt-15 to the traffic light at the intersection of Rt-15 with Rt-206. Turn left at light to parking lot located on southeast corner next to Chatterbox restaurant.

Saturday     April 28, 2012                  Swartswood Lake Circular                                   Moderately Strenuous

We’ll cycle for about 30 miles through beautiful Warren and Sussex Counties on less traveled country roads with as few hills as possible! Bring water and lunch. Rain postpones the ride.

You must call & register to ensure ride is still on.        Helmets Required

Meet: 10:00 AM      Blairstown "Foot Bridge Park" Parking Lot off Route 94, Blairstown, NJ 07825

From I-80 West Exit 12: Proceed north on Rt-521 about 5 miles, to intersection of Rt-94. Turn left onto Rt-94 south towards Blairstown,  proceed about ¼ mi. to road leading to park on left. Do not go as far as the traffic light. Parking is at end of road in gravel lot behind park.

Sunday        April 29, 2012                  Silvermine Circular the new Way                         Strenuous

Come out to check on Roy to see if this route is truly a different way! The route follows Menomine Trail & Long Path to Turkey Hill Lake, Anthony Wayne to 1776 then A.T. to Black Mountain. Along the A.T. back to the other end of the Menomine Trail then back to Silvermine Parking area. Bring Maps!  Or maybe we will go the opposite way.
