Sunday April 5, 2009 Arden Mine Tour Circular
Strenuous
We will start from the Elk Pen on the ASB trail and go to
the Boston Mine first. Then the Dunning
Trail to the end and then head on over towards Time Square for lunch. A bunch
of Mines along the way. After lunch which ever trails that will lead us past
some more mines and back to the Elk Pen to end the day. Possibly
12 miles total.

Interchange; Exit 15A: Take Rt-17 north about 13 miles to the Arden Valley
Road entrance to Harriman State Park on the right. Turn right and proceed 1/2
mile to parking area on right.
Saturday April 11, 2009 Ice Caves Mt. – Minnewaska

Ice Caves Mt. is also known as Sam's Point Dwarf Pine Ridge Preserve. Some of the features on this
hike may include the climb up to Ice
Caves Mt. and the views from this area. Sorry but its too early for
Blueberries!

@I-87N & I-287 Exit 15A: Take Rt-17 North 15 mi. The Commuter Lot is on
the northbound side (right) of Rt-17.
From the North, NYS
Thruway Exit 16: Proceed south on Rt-17 about 2 miles to Commuter lot on
the left side.
Note Sunday April 12, 2009 is Easter Sunday

splendid scenery and there are many active Dairy Farms to be seen.

Meet: 9:00 AM High Point State Park Ranger Station, Rt-23,
Sussex, NJ 07461
After meeting and a stop for bathrooms, we will shuttle
bikes from the Ranger Station to our starting point on Rt-519.
From I-287 Exit 52: Take
Rt-23 North 34 miles to High Point State Park. At Top of Rt-23 hill, on the
left, is the Ranger Station.
Sunday April 19, 2009 Silver Mine Circular

This hike begins at The Silver Mine Parking/Picnic area.
Depending on the day we will go clockwise or counter clockwise on this hike. Do
not bring your maps as I do not want to get confused. I will try to go by my
memory!!! If I can still remember things at my age! Maybe the trails will still be there. Rain or Foul Weather
cancels this hike.

& I-87N Interchange exit 15A: Take Rt-17 north 4 1/2 miles, to Seven
Lakes Drive, just north of Sloatsburg, NY. Turn right onto Seven Lakes Drive;
go 12.6 miles. Parking is on the right.
From the Palisades
Interstate Parkway Exit 18: North to Long Mountain Circle, @ intersection
of PIP & Rt-6. Take Seven Lakes Drive west 1.5 miles to Silver Mine Picnic
Area (on left side of rood).
